408 Request Timeout
The server gave up waiting for the request.
What it means
The client opened a connection but sent the request too slowly.
What your client should do
Retry on a new connection. Check for slow uploads or network problems.
Should you retry?
Yes, with exponential backoff and jitter, and only for idempotent requests (GET, PUT, DELETE) or requests protected by an Idempotency-Key.
